Brazilian Rosewood Tenor Ukulele
This tenor ukulele is made with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a spruce top. Inlay materials are abalone and mother-of-pearl shell, while the binding is curly Hawaiian koa. Brazilian rosewood is a fantastic tone wood that is now on the endangered species list in the U.S. and many other countries. I buy my wood legally from a company, Allied Luthierie, that harvests old stump wood. Anyone wishing to order a uke or guitar made with this wood for shipment outside the U.S. should check with the people at www.alliedlutherie.com about getting the necessary certification papers to allow shipment to their country. Brazilian rosewood combined with spruce makes a very powerful sounding instrument.
