Curly Koa Tenor 5-String Sold

I just finished this tenor 5-string ukulele for the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii Exhibition in Honolulu this past weekend.  understanding.

This is a very curly koa tenor 5-string ukulele. The neck is Spanish cedar with an ebony center strip for added reinforcement. The body top, neck, and headstock have abalone purfling with bocate wood binding. The fretboard and bridge are also bocate wood. There is an abalone rosette, bridge inlay,  neck heel cap, and a mother-of-pearl logo. All the shell is cut from solid shell. No shell laminates are used. The body of this instrument has a soundport on the side facing the player. This allows the ukulele to be heard better by the player under noisy conditions. The tuners are Grover gold plated Mini-Rotomatics with real ebony buttons. Included a best quality Canadian made hardshell case.

Here is the response I received from the new owner of this instrument.

"I just wanted to drop you a
quick line to let you know that my new 5 string
ukulele arrived today.  I could not be happier.
I have only had a few minutes to tune it up and play,
but already I am impressed with the beautiful tone and
feel of the instrument - the action is almost buttery
it's so smooth.  The ring, the clarity, the voice -
this uke is everything I could have ever hoped for.  I
am particularly enjoying the side soundport - this is
the first uke I've owned that had one, and I really
like the extra volume it gives the player without
sacrificing overall tone.
And all of this is to say nothing of the stunning
woods you chose, the wonderful inlay work, the total
craftsmanship...
Thank you once again for making this so easy, and for
making such a beautiful ukulele (oh, and thanks for
the extra set of strings).  I'm sure you'll hear from
me again.

Thank you - MAHALO - and best wishes,"
