Tenor 5-String Ukulele
This is a recent curly Hawaiian koa wood tenor 5-string ukulele. The extra 5th string is an octave C string. It has a matching curly koa top, back, and sides, rosewood fretboard, Honduras mahogany neck with ebony reinforcement strip, and a combination koa and rosewood bridge. There is an abalone rosette and heelcap. The body also has abalone purfling on the top, while the top and back are both bound in pheasant wood. The Hawaiian hawk inlay and the logo are mother-of-pearl. I do all my inlay work by hand and use only solid shell. There is no thin laser inlay or epoxy laminate shell on this piece. It is fitted with Grover black chrome mini tuners with custom pearloid buttons. The finish is carefully applied traditional nitrocellulose lacquer. Clear 5 mil pickguards have been installed on both sides of the fretboard to protect the top. They do not affect the tone of the instrument. This instrument has been sold.
