Tenor 8-String Ukulele

This is a recent Hawaiian curly koa tenor 8-string ukulele. The top, back, and sides are Hawaiian koa with a medium curly figure, very nice colors, and are all from the same piece of wood so that there is a nice match. The neck is Honduras mahogany affixed with a dovetail joint, while the fretboard and bridge are Indian rosewood. It has an abalone rosette, fretboard dots and heel cap and the body has purpleheart wood binding on the front and back. The logo is Mother-of-pearl. There is no thin shell laser inlay on this instrument. I cut my inlay by hand from thick solid shell. The tuners are the new die cast embossed plate machines made by Grover. They have an 18:1 gear ratio and are easy to tune. The fretboard is slightly radiused for ease of playing. Strings are Hilo black Tynex. My woods are well seasoned and I work in a controlled environment shop where humidity levels are kept at 45-50%. Finish is a traditional McFadden high gloss nitrocellulose guitar lacquer. This instrument comes complete with a custom arched top hardshell Harptone case. It has easy to play action and great 8 string tone.
