Tenor Ukulele 11/1/04
This is a tenor sized ukulele from my Artist Series. Instruments in this series are one-of-a-kind pieces that combine various special design features. The extra features on this instrument are the heel carvings, the I'o inlay, and some really spectacular wood that I've been saving for at least 15 years.
This is an all curly koa tenor sized ukulele. It has abalone purfling around the top, an abalone soundhole rosette, abalone heel cap, and abalone bridge inlay. The logo and I'o inlay are mother-of-pearl. I use only full thickness .060 solid shell in my work. None of the pearl or abalone is laminated. The binding is purpleheart. Both the fretboard and bridge are Indian rosewood. It is fitted with Grover gold plated tuners and real ebony tuner buttons. The finish is traditional nitrocellulose lacquer and it comes complete with a high quality form fit hardshell case. Both sides of the neck heel have a handcarved dolphin.
