Neck Wood For Ukuleles
Page under construction 8/19/21. Please check back
My ukulele neck wood kits are tenor ukulele size. The parts are intended for a neck with a scarf jointed headstock. They will work for soprano, concert, and tenors sizes. I offer them in your choice of Hawaii grown Spanish Cedar, Central American grown Spanish Cedar, and Honduras mahogany. Hawaii grown Spanish Cedar is slightly more dense than Central American wood. I try to supply these woods as quartersawn as I can, but all of these woods are considered strong enough to use when rift sawn. Wood choices are becoming more difficult and I have to use what is available.
Kits include the neck shaft, the neck head, 2 pieces to widen the neck head, a heel block, a koa headcap, and a carbon fiber truss rod. The short heel block is supplied with one jointed side to make assembly easier. The other parts will have to be jointed for glue up in the size you need. They are available in 2 sizes. One for heads with vertical tuners and one in a longer size for slotted headstocks. Because of the shallow angle of a slotted headstock, both the head and the neck shaft must be made from longer stock. A link to the way I make necks is here.
To order, send me an e-mail with your size and wood choice. Price is $35.00 plus the mail. Let me know your mailing address to determine mail cost and I'll send you a PayPal invoice. pegasusguitars@hawaiiantel.net
