Curly Spalted Mango Tenor Uke Sets For Sale
I recently had to purchase a lot more mango wood than I wanted in order to secure some of this wildly curly wood for my own instruments. I have very curly tenor size spalted mango sets with 1 piece tops and backs for sale. Tops and backs are 9"-10" wide. Besides being very curly, gray and red/orange spalt runs through much of the wood. Book matched 2 piece sets are also available. While supplies last. Welcome to my site. I am continually changing the information available here, so please visit again. Forthe past 38 years, 29 of them as a full time luthier, I have been making custom guitars and ukuleles. I work slowly, and favor traditional methods of construction. In my instruments you won't find fancy factory made decorative purflings, laser cut inlays, or a host of other new techniques that have come into use in modern luthiery. I hand make as much of my craft as I can, which includes the rope bindings, handcut inlay, and traditional handcut dovetail neck joints. I build instruments based on many historical influences. Depending on body shapes, sizes, and wood types I use bracing techniques learned from my 38 years of building and repairing instruments of many other builder's. I do not make copies of other builder's styles, but rather utilize what I have learned from them. I have a wide variety of bracing patterns that I use where appropriate. Builder's such as Fleta, Romanillos, Martin, Ramirez, Barbero, D'Angelico, Hauser as well as many more, influence both my guitar and ukulele building approaches. At this time I am not able to take any more new orders for instruments due to my backlog of work.
