Life Outside of Lutherie
I was lucky enough to grow up in a beautiful place in Northern California before they paved it over, blocked out the sun with skyscrapers, and smeared it with silicon. I was very lucky! Although I did not know it at the time, it gave me a lifelong appreciation for things natural. My wife grew up in another part of California, but was also in a time and place when nature was more a part of life. I have always lived rurally, in places that were full of nature. Today I am living on a small piece of land on Hawaii island. Everyday I try to find time to get outside the shop and spend a little time on the land. Like almost every human, we complain that things are not perfect, but it is a very nice place to live. Temperate, with plenty of water and fresh air. Here are a few photos of things around our land.
