The Pegasus Vintage Model

Here is an example of an ukulele model that can be ordered from me. It is meant to be a tribute to the way ukuleles were originally made, before all the fancy binding, inlay, and space age finishes came on the scene. I build 2 body shapes with similar specs, the Traditional shape and the Classic shape body. This is a Classic shape body. Materials on this instrument are curly Koa top, back, and sides, Hawaii Island grown Spanish Cedar or Toon Wood neck, Koa fretboard and bridge. Like many tradtional ukuleles, this model has no binding and can have either a slotted or a flat headstock. The saddle and nut are black Micarta. Micarta is a man made material that is similar to bone, but is better for tone. It is not plastic. There is a Paua abalone rosette, bridge inlay, and heel cap. The logo is mother-of-pearl. The tuners are best quality gold plated German Schaller or Grover delux gold plated tuners, depending on availaility. Strung with Aquila Black Lava High G strings.This model normally comes with a Satin finish. It is available in gloss lacquer, but at a higher cost. The satin finish is easier to take care of than gloss for most people.  Almost all the instruments I build have side sound ports and this one does too. Order time is about a year, but can be less depending on my work load. Sales tax is added to any Hawaii in State sales and shipping is also additional. A hardshell case is included in the price. The 2022 cost is $2600.00- $2800.00 plus shipping., depending on details.
