Redwood/Curly Maple Tenor Ukulele 2021 SOLD
This is a new tenor ukulele in my Classic shape. Curly maple back and sides, and sinker redwood top. Sinker wood is wood that has been naturally trapped under water for years and has aged without oxygen. It generally exibits the darker colored streaking as on this top and is very stiff and lightweight wood. Makes great tops! The body is bound with curly koa and the koa fretboard is bound with milo wood. The neck is Hawaii grown Spanish cedar, with a carbon fiiber trussrod. It has my "Projection" style laminated sruce and ebony back braces. These stiffen the back without adding much weight. There is a curly koa headcap on the slotted headstock with a Mother-of Pearl handcut logo inlay. The are paua fret position markers on the face of the fretboard and mother-of-pearl markers on the side of the neck. The bridge is koa with a paua shell inlay. There is also a paua shell rosette and overlay on the neck heel. The tuners are German Schaller gold plated tuners with custom koa knobs. It has a high gloss lacquer finish and comes with a good quality arch top hardshell case.
